Riviera Nayarit surprised during 2017 as the favorite place to vacation and, without a doubt, the realization of events of all kinds was an important factor in its positioning. That is why in this year that is just beginning there are several activities on the doorstep.
The Office of Visitors and Conventions (OVC) supports sports competitions, congresses and cultural activities as part of its promotion efforts; activities that are in everyone’s sight, because they generate visitors and a high exposure due to the media coverage they receive.

During 2017 we had a year with a lot of action in Riviera Nayarit and many of the events that took place here come back in 2018, which speaks very well of the destination, although there will also be new activities that will contribute to its projection ,? said Marc Murphy, director of the Convention and Visitors Bureau of Riviera Nayarit (OVC) and the Association of Hotels and Motels of Bahía de Banderas (AHMBB).
The intense promotion work carried out by the OVC and the AHMBB has been fundamental in obtaining these achievements, for which the Government of the State of Nayarit supported them through the Tourism Promotion Trust (Fiprotur).
Vallarta Cup Race Series (6, 13, 20, 27 January)
To warm up the atmosphere, the Vallarta Cup Race Series starts, organized in its thirteenth edition by the Vallarta Yatch Club of Nuevo Vallarta, which runs every Saturday in January. It is a series of races in which around 25 sailboats participate in the Bay of Banderas and whose sailors meet later in the VYC with the best burgers and live music.

2nd. Nuevo Vallarta Car Show (January 13-14)
Car and motorcycle enthusiasts should not miss the Nuevo Vallarta Car Show, an exhibition to be held in the parking lot of the Nuevo Vallarta Business Center, in a totally familiar environment. The best cars and motorcycles will be awarded in five categories.

Festivities of Our Lady of Peace (January 16-24)
Religious celebration in the coastal town of Bucerías. 2nd Race Green Race 5K and 10K (Date to be confirmed)
If sports and athletics are your thing, start the year running for the benefit of ecology. The Green Race 5k and 10k is organized by the Riviera Nayarit Lions Club and whose slogan is “Sowing the seed for a better future”, as the proceeds will go directly to the care of the environment, with reforestation campaigns in public areas , cleanings of beaches and the creation of urban gardens.
