The XII International Festival of Migratory Birds (FIAM) of San Blas 2016 is about to be held from January 24 to 31. The Riviera Nayarit is adorned with the visit of hundreds of migratory birds, which meet with endemic and resident species. The morning bird watching routes are: Singayta, Vena del Diablo, La Bajada, Isla Isabel and La Tobara (the last one is repeated at night). The new route is the Observation Route through the Streets of San Blas, which will be completely free.

“We emphasize the focus on the recovery of spaces, we will work intensely in schools on the issue of environmental education, we have developed a different methodology depending on the approach to the community,” said the president of FIAM 2016, Rosaura Gascón.

For the previous thing there will be a great cultural and academic program that will have the participation of muralists, lecturers, biologists and specialists.

The inclusion of new generations in the promotion of care for the environment, is vital for the development of communities that have natural resources such as San Blas, that is why every day there will be activities for children and youth, as is the intensive program of the “The Child and the birds” Camp, which will bring together 100 children.

Cycling is still on the rise and that’s why two routes were created: The Professional Cyclists Route Tepic-San Blas on the opening day and the Family Cyclists Route to tour the town on the last day of the Festival.

The Riviera Nayarit Convention and Visitors Bureau has supported this destination anchor event, as it is one of the most important events held in the year.

The artistic presentations of dance, theater, concerts and other manifestations are also a fundamental part in the cultural promotion.
